Saturday, 23 January 2010 15:29

In June, the Latvian national airline airBaltic will launch flights from Riga to the Jordanian capital city of Amman and the Lebanese capital of Beirut. Nonstop flights to Amman will begin on June 1, and the first flight to Beirut will be offered on June 2.

Tero Taskila, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: „In the Middle East we currently serve Tel Aviv and Dubai. We aim to increase airBaltic’s presence in the region, and we start with adding Amman and Beirut to our destinations in the Middle East. By opening these new routes we offer a cost-effective alternative for Europeans to enjoy the rich culture and trade in the Middle East. Likewise, our customers in the Middle East can experience destinations in Northern Europe and Russia which are now accessible through convenient connections.“

Flights from Riga to Beirut will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays (and back on Thursdays and Sundays). Passengers will fly on a Boeing 737 aircraft, and the flight will last for four hours.
