Al Jaber Aviation takes delivery of 1st Airbus aircraft

Al Jaber Aviation (AJA) has become the first Middle East customer to offer an Airbus aircraft for VVIP charter flights, following the delivery of its first A318 Elite. It has a further three A318 Elites and two Airbus Corporate Jetliners (ACJs) on order, which will make it the largest operator of Airbus corporate jets in the region.

Qatar Airways launches additional flights to Alexandria and Luxor

Daily services to popular holiday destination Alexandria begun 2 August and daily flights to Luxor begin 1 September, both up from four weekly services. The additional services will see Qatar Airways operate a total of 21 flights a week to Egypt, with the airline already operating daily to Egypt’s capital city of Cairo.

Qatar Airways Receives 20th Boeing 777 Aircraft

Qatar Airways has reached a milestone 20th Boeing 777 aircraft with the latest, a brand new B777-200 Long Range, arriving in Doha following a delivery flight from Seattle, Washington on Thursday. The new aircraft is the seventh Long Range Boeing in the airline’s fleet. Qatar Airways now operates a total of 20 Boeing aircraft including 11 Extended Range (300-ERs), seven Long Range (200-LRs) and two freighter versions.

Lufthansa Cargo plane crash in Riyadh

According to the latest reports, a Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 freighter crashed this morning at 11.38 a.m. (local time) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The aircraft, coded Flight LH 8460, was on a flight to Riyadh from Frankfurt, Germany.

Oman Air Adds Kathmandu To Its Expanding Network

Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, announced the commencement of services between Muscat, the Omani capital and Kathmandu, from 2nd September 2010. Kathmandu is the 40th destination in the Oman Air network and will be operated with a B737-700 aircraft offering Business and Economy Class cabins.

El Seif Group Adds Challenger 605 Aircraft to its Corporate Jet Fleet

Bombardier Aerospace today announced the delivery of a Challenger 605 jet to El Seif Group of Saudi Arabia. The new aircraft will be used primarily for executive travel between the company’s various Middle Eastern operations.
