Qatar Airways is celebrating the launch of scheduled services to Ankara following the arrival of its inaugural flight from Doha to the Turkish capital last night. With the touchdown of flight QR462 at Esenboğa International Airport, where the aircraft was welcomed by a dramatic water salute and met by senior airport officials and local dignitaries, the airline’s expansion into Turkey took yet another major leap forward. |

After a 20-year break, Lufthansa will resume flights to Iraq. On 25 April 2010, the German airline will launch services from Frankfurt to the city of Erbil in Northern Iraq. Lufthansa customers will have a choice of four flights per week on this new route. Lufthansa will operate the four-and-a-half hour flight with an Airbus A319 with 132 seats in Business and Economy Class. |

One more of the new Airbus 330-300 aircrafts, scheduled for delivery this year, joined Oman Air fleet last week. The brand new aircraft flew on its delivery flight from its home in Toulouse to Muscat and marked another feather in the cap of Oman Air. |

Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s premium airline announced today the arrival of its fifth A320 Airbus aircraft, tailored to the highest degree of excellence and luxury and allowing it to further expand its schedule and launch new routes. Starting May 2nd, the premium carrier announced that it will start a regular service to Istanbul, the commercial capital of Turkey and the European capital of culture 2010. |
