GE Capital Aviation Services Ltd. (GECAS) announced today that it has executed a deal with Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, for the purchase/leaseback of eight GE90-115B engines to support the carrier’s Boeing wide body fleet. This was the first engine leasing deal consummated between the two companies, and was contracted by the Engine Leasing division of GECAS. |

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman will launch on May 3rd its services between Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman, and Al Ain, in the UAE. The carrier offers passengers daily flights between Al Ain and Muscat. With the introduction of Al Ain, Oman Air marks its 35th destination worldwide and the fourth in the United Arab Emirates, the other three being Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. |

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced it will commence flights from Abu Dhabi to Baghdad on April 26, subject to government and regulatory approvals, becoming the first airline in the UAE to fly to Iraq. Etihad will operate five return services per week to Baghdad, operated by two-class Airbus A320 aircraft, and will expand its operation with two additional A320 return services to a second Iraq destination – Erbil – from June 1, subject to government and regulatory approvals. |
