American Airlines and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have announced a new codeshare agreement which will pave the way for closer commercial cooperation between the two airlines (subject to government approval). |

The deal follows the launch of Etihad’s four flights a week service to the Turkish commercial capital, Istanbul, which began on 1 June. Under the deal the Abu Dhabi-based airline will place its two-letter ‘EY’ code on Turkish Airline’s flights from Istanbul to the UAE’s capital city. |

Embraer delivered a Legacy 600 executive jet, this week, to Titan Aviation, from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The aircraft was acquired by an undisclosed customer, and will be managed and operated by Titan Aviation for exclusive private use of its owner. The Dubai-based company has another Legacy 600 in its fleet, since June 2008, and is scheduled to incorporate a Lineage 1000 jet in 2012. |

Air Arabia announced that it has doubled the frequency of non-stop service between the carrier’s main hub in Sharjah, UAE, and the Turkish city of Istanbul. In line with increasing seasonal demand for low-cost service to the largest city in Turkey, which is also the country’s cultural capital, Air Arabia now flies to Istanbul four times per week. |
